Seminar date: December 13, 2012
Here are the questions you will need:
1. Do you think Great-Aunt Malkin’s gift to Camilla was a good idea? Why or why not? How might Camilla’s life have been different if her beauty had not been hidden?
2. How would the world be changed if everyone looked exactly the same?
3. What attitudes are presented in this play about outer beauty? About inner beauty? How
are the attitudes of the chancellor, the king and queen, Great-Aunt
Malkin, the princess herself and Prince Simon similar and different?
Things to keep in mind:
- Speak so that all can hear you
- Listen closely
- Speak without raising hands
- Refer to the text
