Today in Core: December 14th
Only one week left before a nice, and wonderful 2 week holiday break of awesomeness!
Before we can relax, we have a lot of work to get through this week. Each assignment challenging and important. We shall not rest until Friday at 2:20pm.
Social Studies:
- Create a Culture rough draft should be DONE when you walk through the door on Tuesday
- Many students began work on the Create a Culture final draft which is due THURSDAY.
Language Arts
- New spelling words: exposed, chimney, suspend, together, maroon, believe, brilliant, wonder, dappled, grazing, blizzard, surname, numb, rotund, adorn, receipt, gluttonous, benevolent, congregate, memento, embellish, ornate, dismantle, emerald, voracious, crimson
- Complete activity number one: creating a winter scene (due Wednesday for AM, and Tuesday for PM)

- How to Packet: editing with a friend (switch papers, make corrections, read aloud)
- How to Packet: type final draft in liblab (due Wednesday)
Trimester 2!
Welcome to trimester 2!!
A few reminders...
- Bathroom pass: blue stickers can ask to go at any time (though may not be granted permission to leave the room numerous times in one class period, or during certain parts of the period)...use bathroom privileges responsibly. All other students must have teacher sign planner on page 19 and are limited to 3 passes per trimester...this includes retrieving items from your locker.
- Reading Logs: as a holiday present, students have the next 4 weeks (2 week of school, 2 weeks of break) free of reading log responsibilities...however, science fiction/fantasy books need to be completed by December 16th which will require that you read the book at home.
- Lunch: 4th period students now have 2nd lunch!

Check out the doc camera video that I made in about 9 minutes, as a test for future blog entries...please view the video as it takes you step by step through the first three pages of the How to Packet...I don't know that I will continue to use video in this way, but it was fun to try it (not knowing at all what I was doing...as you can see from the "roughness" of the video, which is not edited)
