This Week: 4/14 - 4/18

Wow! What a gorgeous weekend we had, and now? Damp, dreary, Monday.

Better to be damp and dreary on a Monday than a Friday, Saturday or Sunday...and we only have 8 Mondays left this year (well, 7 after today)!

This week we will finish our district writing assessments (by Wednesday), and begin work on the Meeting Challenges Book Conference 2008! The book conference is a fun simulation that I became aquainted with while teaching 7th grade in Lake Oswego. Last year was my first time pulling the whole thing off on my own (and with 6th grade), and we had so much fun that we will be participating again this year! Keep your eyes on the blog and website for copies of handouts and packets that will be used for the conference (I hope to have them up tonight, or Tuesday...but, by now I am sure you all know that time is tight in these parts and it could be Friday before I get it on the web)!

* The book conference will take place April 28-30!

In SS we are winding our way down the path to Aztecs, Inca, and Maya...we are done with Chapter 11 and heading to Chapter 12. On Friday, April 25, 2008 we will have the Chapter 11 & 12 test (look for a study guide April 23rd).

Have a great week!
