After our discussion today, I thought it would be a nice idea for you to review the following information...

from wikipedia: 

"In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain."

Putting things in perspective...

Using THIS website, I was able to see just how large the gulf oil spill is compared with Newberg. As you can see from the picture below, this spill covers a huge amount of earth. The picture shows how much ground the spill would cover if it had happened here. What an enormous environmental impact!
